Hon. Suzanne K. Nusbaum, FCIArb, draws on more than 30 years of distinguished judicial and neutral dispute resolution experience to assist counsel in resolving both their simple and most complex civil cases. She works cooperatively with litigators and clients to design the best dispute resolution procedure for their dispute.

Judge Nusbaum arbitrates both nationally and internationally. Her areas of expertise include business, employment, health care, personal injury, consumer and intellectual property disputes.

She graduated Cum Laude from Smith College, and has a JD from Boston University and an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Santa Clara University School of Law.

Judge Nusbaum serves on many ADR panels, including ICDR, AAA, AAMS, WIPO, AHLA and FINRA.

She annually judges the Chinese National Rounds of the Jessup International Moot Court, where she was voted “best judge” in 2011.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and chaired its Northern California Chapter from 2008 to 2015.

Securities: Claims for Common Law Fraud, misrepresentation, unsuitability, excessive trading, churning, overconcentration, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence; amount in controversy $410,000.00. Panel arbitrator. FINRA.

Commercial: Claim of failure to pay a promissory note in the amount of $27,000. Sole Arbitrator, American Arbitration Association.

Employment: A claim for Failure to Pay Overtime in Violation of FLSA in the amount of $214,000.00. Sole Arbitrator, American Arbitration Association.
